Current and Future of Web page Design Careers

The current state of Web Page Design Careers is about average as far as careers go. The average web page designer makes around $43,500 per year. There are about 275,000-300,000 jobs available for web page designers. It appears that web page designers make a fair amount of money, and they will most likely not have trouble finding work given the large number of jobs available right now.

The number of jobs is expected to grow 13% from 2010-2020. This means there will be about 37,000 more jobs by this time. It looks like Webpage designers will not have to worry about finding work in the future. However, according to Smashing Magazine, Web Design is becoming less relevant. Evidently, content is becoming more and more important to users, especially those who use mobile devices to access the web.

I believe that although content is the most important aspect of a website, there will always be a market for aesthetics. Also, due to the projected increase in jobs for Web Designers, I think the future of Web Page Design looks bright.
